All you need to know about Serverless & NoOps

The world is moving fast and new technologies are surging up every now and then. Internet of things is a common example of this revolution that is brought by digital technology. The day is not far when the trend of Serverless and NoOps will become common in the business world and every business entity will be availing their innumerable benefits.

It is the dire need of the hour for every business entity, regardless of its nature, scale, and sector, to embrace the digital technology as the future lies in it. A business entity, without having an online presence can simply be termed as a non-existent in this modern world.

Before going into further details, let’s shed some light on what these terms actually are.

Also termed as FaaS – Function as a Service, Serverless computing relies on cloud technology as the cloud vendor is in charge of the whole platform and allocation of machine resources. It reduces the burden from developers because it deals with the major functions, which they had to perform. Serverless computing technology ensures a reduction in operational costs and maintenance efforts, enhanced infrastructure security, and improved scalability.

The basic aim of serverless computing technology is to develop effective microservice oriented solutions. These solutions can help to break down complex applications into easily management modules that are smaller in size. The developers do not have to worry about the number of machines operating and executing the codes due to serverless technology.

The concept of NoOps (No Operations) is increasingly becoming popular in the current times. The technology of NoOps is the automation of IT environment. With the implementation of this technology, the requirement of a dedicated team for management of the IT processes associated with app building procedures is eliminated. Unlike the existing systems, in which a specific team is in charge of different IT related functions such as coding and programming, this technology will automate the deployment, maintenance, and other such tasks.

Modern IT technology is already playing a vital role in the growth of business entities in all the sectors. Custom solutions are available for every type of business depending on their needs and specifications. From website development to mobile app development, a business can avail numerous services in order to grow and enhance their online presence and to reach a wide audience. However, internet of things and automation come in place when it comes to smooth operations in reduced cost and labour.

The outcome of these technologies will only come in foray when they will be implemented on a large scale. Currently, only a handful of large business organizations are using these technologies and enjoying their extensive benefits. While the serverless computing is already gaining momentum, the rise of NoOps is still in its early stages. Thus, the effects of this digital transformation are yet to be seen.
